Cory George, MS, MA, Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (CCTS), joined Path for Families at the beginning of 2024 as a Training Specialist. He officially entered the field of mental health in 2021 when the pandemic resulted in a change of employment after working in the information technology industry for 20+ years. Cory has had a progressive career that began with advocacy for childhood sexual abuse survivors, to becoming a life coach, and finally landing on what he considers his calling: trauma recovery. His experience includes working with individuals and families in private practice as well as working with students in the DC Public School system whereby he provided treatment to children experiencing developmental delays and behavioral difficulties.
Along with career experience, Cory is also a two-time adoptive parent and feels that his experience on both the clinical and parenting side can serve as a wonderful asset to the Prince Georges County’s Trauma-Informed Care Training Initiative. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate degree in Community Care and Counseling; Traumotology through Liberty University.
Cory enjoys watching movies and shows depicting true crime, board games, music, quiet times, and utilizing his production skills to create content aimed at educating his followers regarding mental health.
