Carmello is a sweet teen known for his kind nature and he brings joy to everyone around him. Whether he’s spending time with peers, teachers, or support staff, Carmello’s friendly and gentle personality shines through. Adults who work with him often say how easygoing he is and how his smile can brighten anyone’s day.
Carmello enjoys sensory play and can often be found happily engaged with fidget toys or swinging. He thrives on social interaction and loves being surrounded by friends and caring adults. His enthusiasm is contagious, and he lights up when visitors come by, always leaving them with a smile. At school, Carmello is a valued helper on the classroom “coffee cart” team, delivering coffee and snacks to other classrooms. His teacher describes him as an eager learner who always puts forth his best effort, no matter the task.
Carmello is autistic and non-verbal, but he’s making great strides in communication. He’s learning to use an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device and also knows some basic sign language. His determination and positive attitude make him a joy to support and teach.
