The Janice Goldwater Award for Innovation in Child Welfare and Family Well-Being aims to recognize and celebrate extraordinary individuals at the forefront of innovative practices and solutions in the fields of child welfare and family well-being in the DMV.
By highlighting significant and creative contributions that align with Janice’s enduring legacy of transformative innovation, this award seeks to inspire action, promote continuous improvement, and foster a culture of ethical practices.
Through this recognition, we honor professionals who embody the following principles to contribute to a more equitable and supportive society for children and families connected to foster care and adoption:
- Action over rhetoric
- Continuous improvement and action
- Ethical practices
- Partnership with families and communities
- Adherence to the IDEAS principles – Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access, and Social Justice
