Approaching the topic of your child’s birth history can be difficult, especially when there are painful or sensitive issues related to their birth family and past. Talking with Children about Adoption Part 2 will explore ways to discuss difficult birth family histories marked by mental illness, substance abuse, criminal behavior, physical or sexual abuse, or abandonment and neglect.
