Waiting Family for Foster Care Adoption, Bobbi Jo & Charlie

Hello! A bit about us. We are Charlie (Dad), Bobbie Jo (Mama), “T” (11), “L” (7), and “S” (6)!

  • We are pet lovers!
  • We are a little loud and a lot of fun!
  • We are jokesters, enjoy family time, and are Christians who LOVE Jesus!

Our faith lands on Jesus and while we love First Baptist Church of Woodbridge (FBCW), it is not about our “church” or the “building”. It is about the amazing love and grace of God. We are focused on living out our faith daily with our family and friends, with our church family, and in our community. Both dad and mom attend weekly bible studies, and the family participates in outreach activities locally with FBCW.

More about dad. Charlie works from home in cybersecurity. He coaches the FBCW softball team. He is our family comedian and enjoys fitness, being outdoors, and cooking. He is the reason why family dinners are a hit, and often include other neighborhood kids. More about mom. Bobbie Jo works from home in cybersecurity. She is over the moon in love with her husband and loves being a creative and adventurous mom. Bring out the boxes for each holiday, you can be sure the house will be decorated from corner to corner! She loves fitness, animals, and investing her time with the kids and community. More about the kids. “T” is a kind, loving, and wonderful big sis. She enjoys playing softball, building forts, decorating, and reading. “L” is a bold, fearless, and loveable sister with a big heart. She loves riding her bike with friends, hosting picnics, playing her harmonica, and going horseback riding. “S” is a playful, energetic, happy brother. He plays T-ball and loves to show off his ability to run fast like Sonic! All of the kids love climbing trees and the pool!

Our family also includes Ella (6yo Pug), Summer and Mr. Snowball (our kittens), a couple fish, and a small pond out back with our other “pets”, including lizards, frogs, tadpoles, fish, and the occasional turtle. We enjoy being outdoors, exploring trails, and fishing at our neighborhood lake. At home, we have ninja lines with swings and obstacles, an outdoor playhouse with a slide, small pond, and creek all in our back yard. Everyone helps with yard work, pond cleaning, and has daily/weekly chores to earn a weekly allowance.

We take vacations to the beach each year, and are headed to Yogi Bear Park for cabin-camping in Luray (with the grandparents) later this summer. In the fall we are planning to rent an RV and travel down to NC to visit family for Thanksgiving. The journey is sure to be just as fun as the destination!

We live in a single-family home on a cul-de-sac in a suburban neighborhood. Our community has a lake, pool, basketball and tennis courts, and a playground. We throw movie nights on the back deck with the neighborhood kids when it’s warm; $.50 hot chocolate stands when it’s cold; and have a driveway full of bicycles every afternoon. We have a great community here. The doorbell rings throughout the day with kids asking to play. We love it all. And the seed is still growing to bring home our future child!

Kids deserve a family with committed parents and a supportive community. We know that means being an advocate for their needs; show up; and keep showing up. We would love to bring a child into our family and provide that love, grace, and support they deserve – as well as a whole lot of fun while we’re at it.
