Jane Rodgers is a Principal at Markham Law Firm, where she practices family law in Maryland and the District of Columbia. Jane handles a broad range of matters, including adoption, child custody, child support, divorce, domestic violence, pre- and post- nuptial agreements, guardianships, name changes, gender marker changes, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, standby guardianships, and the review of known sperm donor agreements.

Jane serves as counsel for children in contested custody matters in both Montgomery County and Frederick County as a Best Interest Attorney and Child’s Privilege Attorney. She is on the roster of Court-appointed counsel in guardianship matters in Montgomery County. Jane has completed a 40 Hour Mediation & Interest-Based Negotiation Skills Training and serves as an attorney facilitator for the Montgomery County Circuit Court. Additionally, Jane was a Fellow of the Montgomery County Bar Association Leadership Development Academy, completing her fellowship in 2018.

Jane received her law degree from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, Washington, DC in May 2013 and her B.A. from McDaniel College, Westminster, MD in May 2008. Prior to entering private practice, Jane clerked for the Honorable John W. Debelius, III, Administrative Judge of the Montgomery County Circuit Court.

Jane currently serves as the Co-Chair to both the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section and the Youth Courthouse Project Committee of the Bar Association of Montgomery County, Maryland. She serves on the Executive Board of the Montgomery County chapter of the Women’s Bar Association of Maryland as the President-Elect (President for the 2026-2027 bar year).

Jane has been recognized in her field, receiving honors such as Bethesda Magazine Top Attorney – Adoption (2023 and 2025), Best Lawyers in America (2026), Maryland Super Lawyers (2024-2026), Maryland Super Lawyers Rising Stars (2020-2023), and Washington DC Super Lawyers Rising Stars (2020-2023).
