Melanie joined the team at Paths for Families in 2020 as the Director of Clinical Services. She serves in a leadership role and supports the counseling, family finding, training, and Heart Gallery programs. Melanie holds both a bachelors and masters in Social Work and has extensive experience in child welfare in both public and private agencies. She worked with families in a variety of roles across the child welfare service continuum, as a therapist in an Outpatient Mental Health Center, and as the Director of Residential Services at a Maryland child placement agency. She is a licensed clinical Social Worker and board-approved supervisor in MD, DC, and VA.
Melanie is a lifelong learner and has taken extensive training in trauma-informed care, grief and loss, attachment, and in evidence based practices such as TF-CBT (Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).
