Melissa Lewis-Ransom, LMSW, joined the team at Paths for Families in November 2021 as the Family Find Program Manager. She is responsible for the provision of administrative, clinical, and operational oversight of the Baltimore City Department of Social Services (BCDSS) Family Find Step Down Program.

Melissa began her 10-year career in child welfare at Baltimore City Department of Social Services, working as a social worker in various departments in the Out of Home Placement Unit, Extended Hours for Emergency, and Intensive Case Management. For six years at BCDSS, Ms. Lewis-Ransom was a Family Find Specialist/State Liaison working in the Family Find Unit that is in collaboration with Paths for Families and BCDSS. Her experience at BCDSS includes working as a Confidential Intermediary in the Adoption Search Contact and Reunion Services Unit working with adults that were previously adopted in Baltimore City seeking assistance with locating their biological families.

Melissa completed the Minority Professional Leadership Development Fellowship program through AdoptUSKids and sponsored by the Children’s Bureau in 2023. Melissa holds an Associate degree in Human Services Administration, and Bachelors and Master’s Degrees in Social Work with a concentration in Urban Children and Family Services.
