Rute Antunes
Staff Senior Accounting Specialist
Rute Antunes joined Paths for Families in 2013 as an Accounting Coordinator, bringing a strong background in financial and administrative operations. Over the course of her career, Rute has built more than 20 years of accounting and financial experience. Today, as Senior Accounting Specialist, she serves as a key point of contact for the Finance Department, overseeing a broad range of financial responsibilities and coordinating essential finance operations while reporting to the Deputy Director.
With extensive accounting expertise and a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, Rute manages and records financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger reconciliation, and payroll. She also performs account analysis, supports budgeting and financial planning, assists with annual audits, and brings significant experience in contract administration and monitoring compliance requirements. Rute helps ensure that financial records are accurate, documentation is complete, and financial processes are carried out efficiently and in accordance with organizational and contractual requirements.
Through her attention to detail, dependability, and commitment to supporting her colleagues, Rute plays an important role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of the organization’s financial operations and supporting sound financial decision-making.
Rute is trilingual and fluent in Portuguese, Spanish, and English. She is a valued resource to her program colleagues and frequently provides translation support for birth parents and families, helping ensure they feel informed, understood, and supported throughout their experience with Paths for Families.
