Steps of the Infant Adoption Process

How does infant adoption work? Adoptions Together, a program of Paths for Families, offers domestic infant adoption. A domestic infant adoption is the adoption of a baby born within the United States by a family that lives in the United States. Domestic infant adoptions occur when a birth parent legally consents to an adoptive placement and an adoptive family is prepared to care for the child as their legal parents. We work with couples and single parents of every background, and we are an Innovator status partner of the Human Rights Campaign's All Children, All Families campaign.

Legal Questions About Adoption

Legal Questions About Adoption

Adoption can be a wonderful way to build your family. It is a lifelong experience for adopted children and their families that must be based on secure legal grounds. Philosophically, we approach the legal process of adoption in much the same way that we approach the emotional aspects of adoption. We strive to greatly reduce the adversarial nature that characterizes many legal proceedings and replace it with trust and respect for the feelings, rights and responsibilities of parents who are choosing to place a child for adoption and the parents who are making the lifelong commitment to adopt a child.

Foster Care Adoption Training

Foster Care Adoption Training

Foster Care Adoption Training is a requirement in the foster care adoption process which helps adoptive parents understand the unique joys and challenges of adopting from foster care. Our foster care adoption program facilitates the placement of children of all ages who are growing up in the public foster care system throughout the country.
